Do you know where to go to get academic assistance on campus? Do you know our course policies (e.g., attendance, grading, participation, late work, etc.) for GEOL 313?
Do you know what’s scheduled for class each day?
Both the Syllabus and Course Schedule are downloadable as pdfs. (Please note: These pdfs are uploaded at the beginning of the semester. You should access Moodle if any changes to the Course Schedule occur during the semester. Moodle will be updated weekly.)
Here are links to these important documents:
The Syllabus is a fairly lengthy document, but there are significant portions of the Syllabus that are required by the College. I have tried to outline most class policies needed throughout the semester. The Course Schedule outlines each day of the class: topic(s) to cover in lecture, activities to complete in lab, references to read, and assignments to turn in to me. The only items not listed on the Course Schedule are weekly/biweekly spontaneous homework assignments. Homework assignments will be distributed as needed for student learning during the semester, and homework due dates will be announced at that time. If you have a question about either the Syllabus or the Course Schedule at any time during the semester, ask me immediately.
Note: Remember that each major topic (i.e., “The Brunton Compass”, “Joints and Veins”, “Faults”, etc.) may have additional material for you to explore and to read. In addition to your textbook and lab manual, do not forget to visit Moodle, Wooster’s course management systems. Moodle contains uploaded pdfs, powerpoint presentations, and interesting websites related to course content. It is your responsibility to check Moodle regularly. Typically, I will add materials to Moodle on a weekly basis. (If anyone who is registered for the class does not see GEOL 313 listed as one of his/her Moodle courses, let me know immediately so that I can make sure you have Moodle access.)
